Installation art explains an artistic type of site specific, and three dimensional tasks are created to convert a viewer’s perception space. Usually, the Installation art has been applied to interior spaces whereas the exterior intrusions that are sometime called as land art. However, the Installation art may be either permanent or temporary. It has been designed for exhibition spaces like galleries, museums, and for public as well as private spaces.
Installation art integrates a wide range of natural material that are sometime selective for evocative qualities as well as new media like sound, performance, immersive virtual reality, video and Internet. There are so many institutions focusing on Installation art which has been evolved in the year of 1980. The importance of Installation art has started from 1970s, but it has been evolved by Marcel Duchamp. Using the Installation art is the best option for all people who are really looking for it. Installation as the nomenclature for the specific type of the art came in use recently; the first use as it is documented by OED was at 1969. It was then coined in context that is in reference to form of art, which had existed as prehistory however wasn’t regarded as the discrete category till mid twentieth century.
Essentially, the installation or environmental art takes in account viewer’s whole sensory experience, instead floating framed focus points on the “neutral” wall and displaying the isolated objects on the pedestal. Allan Kaprow have used term “Environment” at 1958 to describe the transformed indoor spaces; later joined these terms as the “project art” or “temporary art.” This also leaves time and space as its just dimensional constants.
